Boston Ski & Sports Club has long been known for the amazing connections it makes between members who ski, play sports or party together. But in an era where corporate culture and work/life balance is more important than ever for competitive recruiting, BSSC has seen a trend towards many cutting edge Boston area startups and tech companies reaping major benefits on and off the field and slopes with BSSC recreational sports leagues and ski trips.

Google, Wayfair, Propel Marketing, LogMeIn and Tank Design are just a few of the Boston-area companies that are playing and skiing with BSSC.

Sunday River“The BSSC ski trip we took last year is the new favorite event,” says David Wells of Tank Design, which added it to the roster of social events like annual Halloween and Christmas parties, F1 Racing and Red Sox games. “People are already asking when we’re going to do it again.”

The Tank Design ski trip to Loon Mountain came about last winter when they discovered through water cooler conversation that a large number of the 50-person Boston office were avid skiers. The idea to ski together came to fruition, David says, with just a couple of quick phone calls and emails.

“It was awesome,” says David. “It’s an affordable option and we’ve already scheduled a duplicate trip for this winter.”

Tank Design’s private ski trip through BSSC bussed 35 people up to Loon Mountain and provided ski lessons and equipment, plus a catered lunch at Deli with a beautiful view of the mountain. Most importantly, everything about the trip was taken care of when the team arrived.
