Assistant Sports Program Manager

This position is a great opportunity to launch your sports management career with Boston's largest sports & social club! The Boston Ski & Sports Club (BSSC) is actively recruiting an energetic, detail-oriented professional to support their sports department with a variety of tasks. This is a 40 hour per week position, which includes 20-30 hours of in-office administrative support and 10-20 hours of after-hours support (nights and weekends) as needed. BSSC is a 50 year old company that services almost 50,000 participants annually. This is your chance to work for a fun, casual company located in Watertown, MA and make an impact in a field that you love!


This position will work a core schedule of 12pm-6pm Monday through Friday, with the remaining hours done at night and on weekends, fluctuating as needs dictate.



  • Maintain league standings and schedule
  • Process team registrations, rosters and payments
  • Organize, sort, maintain and deliver various league supplies and equipment
  • Maintain up-to-date website league offerings and details
  • Maintain record of usage and payments for officials and facilities
  • Assist with general office administrative duties, including answering phones, inventory management, and activity & event sales
  • Project needs and assign staffing for leagues, activities and events
  • Conduct relevant on-going market research and relay information to sports department
  • Support BSSC marketing department in league/event advertisements and campaigns
  • Update and maintain company social media outlets, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages
  • Prepare and maintain athletic fields as needed
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all BSSC events and activities, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Assume the role of Program Manager as needed
  • Act as BSSC liaison and foster positive relationships with team representatives and players, encourage on-going league participation, promote other BSSC leagues and activities, and provide information, materials, and services as needed



  • 1+ year experience in customer service and/or program management, preferably in a sports-related setting
  • Strong Microsoft Office and typing skills
  • Excellent customer service, organization, communication, and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle pressure situations and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines
  • Friendly, flexible, and self-motivated personality
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends
  • Must own a car that will be needed for night & weekend duties
  • Love of the game

League Coordinators

Players are often needed to be on-site coordinators for BSSC sports leagues, like Basketball, Kickball, Volleyball and more.  Coordinators must be responsible, people-oriented individuals with some experience and knowledge of their sport.  You will play for free and/or may collect a small stipend for equipment set-up and overseeing the league.  Please check the website for more details on the leagues, then email your interest and experience to Mark Robarts at mark@bssc.com.




Day Ski & Snowboard Trip Leaders

BSSC is looking for enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders to lead BSSC day trips this winter.  You must be outgoing and organized. Trips run all day on Saturdays and Sundays and the schedule is flexible.  Leaders must be responsible, people-oriented individuals with some knowledge and experience in skiing/snowboarding and leadership. You will ski/ride for FREE and be asked to spread the word about BSSC to fill the buses with friends and co-workers!  The number of openings is limited each season.
